THE FACE behind the lens

I’m a freelance photographer based in Florence, South Carolina, and I’ve been behind the camera professionally for the past four years. But my love for photography started long before that—growing up in front of the lens. Every Christmas, I’d receive a new camera, spending hours pretending to be a model. It sparked something in me. The desire to be seen, to be captured, and eventually to capture others in their truth.

By the end of 2018, I realized that dream of modeling could become real. Who would’ve imagined that all it would take was shaving my head? That one bold move changed everything. It opened up creative possibilities, helped me build confidence, and allowed me to model in runway shows, barber expos near Washington, D.C., and major hair shows.

That experience taught me so much—not just about myself, but about the power of image, voice, and presence. It became more than just modeling. It became a mission. A way to inspire other women and young girls to embrace who they are, boldly and unapologetically.

That mission continues through ANPOV Photography—Amanda Nicola’s Point of View. My work is about more than just taking pictures. It’s about showing people their potential from a different perspective. It’s about reconnecting families, highlighting love, and giving a voice to the unheard. Because a photo is worth a thousand words—and everyone deserves to share theirs.

With the launch of ANPOV Studios, I’m creating more than a photography space. I’m creating a safe, welcoming home where stories are told, confidence is built, and creativity is celebrated. ANPOV Studios is where people find not only their voice—but a sense of belonging.
